Calendar - Event View

The cruise will be very informal, following the pattern of cruising some of our members have been doing: pick a place for a “meet up” with other boats and enjoy each other’s company out-of-doors with physical distancing. The State Parks will not be taking reservations for group structures, so we won’t be able to reserve the picnic structure for a docktails party or any other group event. We will make Echo Bay our base. As most of you know, Sucia is a beautiful, but rustic park, without a dock. There are a large number of mooring buoys, and two linear moorages in Echo Bay. There is also a lot of room for anchoring. We plan to anchor and raft up with other interested boats. Friday night, we will try a progressive docktail party by dinghy on board some of the rafted boats for those who feel they can safely gather in small groups, outside, with appropriate physical distancing. Saturday will be a free day for all to venture ashore for hiking, or perhaps launch kayaks or SUPs to explore the island waters. Some may wish to bring their morning coffee ashore, or plan a picnic lunch with others. We’ll be on our own for dinner, but some may choose to share meals aboard with small groups. Please let me know if you are planning to join the July “UNcruise” and I’ll send additional information as it develops.
